You need to be mainstream, you have to be a singer with more drama in you then singing skills. And most importantly why are you not crying?

I think he is a new version of folk and would make a great storyteller of this age. I thought the first song was a definite no and it lacked dynamic range and excitement but when he wrote and song his own song the excitement and emotion came out of his voice and his music and it left me wanting much much more of this artist. I hope I get to see and hear more of my painted Man that they turned away. I think the judge is really screwed up on this one.

I actually really like Murphy but I understand where the criticism is coming from. American Idol has always searched for singers who can be commercially successful in today’s industry. Plus to anyone comparing him to Bob Dylan and saying he’s a THROWBACK that’s NOT HELPING HIM at all because the point in 2021 today and why they have these shows isn’t to find another throwback and that kind of artistry may help him win over viewers but the question remains for every artist is can they actually be someone to come out of the show and sell and I personally think Murphy CAN DO THAT by the way but we shall see.

One thing that’s extremely special about this girl is her presence and ability to connect. And that just transcends and amplified her already impressive voice and musicality. She managed to make TWO classics her own in one audition. That’s greatness and shouldn’t be taken lightly. I kinda disagree with Luke. There was something more there than just her voice that brought tears. It wasn’t about her story either. I just could feel her energy through my screen. Very special. Someone who is seriously meant to be performing and fulfilling her calling. Happy to witness. I think Casey bishop has the youth and look, Cassandra has the unique voice, but this girl just kinda has it all..? Lol these white girls r lowkey showing up and showing out this year.
